It’s the opposite of “divide to conquer, keep divided to keep conquered” and it has a unique possibility called SYNERGY, sometimes known as emergent behavior where the sum of the whole is unpredicted by the individual parts.

There are other fascinating benefits of working together … one often called ‘the group effect’  where individuals performances improve when working or training with a group.

I’ve experienced this a number of times in sport, particularly in running teams where four or more team members run in rhythm and it’s an absolutely amazing feeling. I’ve also experienced it in business where the growth generated by an aligned team can be so explosive that it is difficult to manage without proper financial planning.

It’s just one of the reasons I love Buckminster Fuller or ‘Bucky’ as he was known, in particular for the clarity he brings  to almost every topic … and synergy of course was one of his favorite topics. See nothing in nature operates on it’s own! Yet as human beings we are very often working separately … and even just walking down the street don’t you sometimes feel a separation?

Studying Buckminster Fuller and his work and reading biographies has had a profound shift in the way I view my life.

He said (c1975) that it no longer works to prosper personally at the exclusion of everyone else, or more accurately “It is no longer integrity to look after yourself at the expense of another.”

To do so means that you are not present to the opportunity or possibility that everyone can be abundantly SUCCESSFUL within a very short time.

Our current financial structure is still based on the Malthusian belief that there is not enough for everyone, and so it is accepted as OK to take what I can … even if it takes from someone else, or at the expense of another!

This is old thinking, this is dinosaur thinking …

Recently we have heard of US billionaires giving away half their wealth. As I shared with someone today, if you had a million dollars and spent one thousand dollars a day you would run out in less than three years.

With a BILLION dollars it would take you two thousand seven hundred and forty years before you ran out …

I believe that Bucky Fuller would see this as “UNEVIDENT SELFISHNESS” at it’s most gross form. People appearing on the outside to care, to be charitable but actually still looking to look after themselves first.

The amount being donated to charity evidently totals 650 billion dollars.

The billionaires will replace their wealth in the blink of an eye … especially during a GFC (Global Financial Crisis) and we all know that teaching someone to fish is a lot more powerful and empowering than giving someone a fish, but we’re still giving fish.

I personally think it stinks of rotting fish.

Was ‘Bucky’ Fuller Right? Are We Digging A Deeper & Deeper Hole?

Bucky Fuller is one of the most important humans of the twentieth century, and one of the most original thinkers of our time … but how many people are listening to him?

Yes, he passed on in 1983 … but his books, audio trainings and DVD’s  live on.

There is also a business education program called Money & You that operates successfully round the world and teaching many of  Fuller’s principles.  I did the program in Australia in 1992 and contribute a large part of my business success and the soon to be launched ethical marketplace and member’s club Your Healthy Planet.com to what I learned there.

How many of our so called world leaders have even heard his name?

Sadly I think very few, otherwise we would not be where we are financially, environmentally or spiritually. He designed amazing buildings that were a fraction of the weight of conventional buildings and could be constructed in a fraction of the time.  He even designed floating cities because of the then high land prices (nothing has changed) and submerged cities. Today companies are designing and building what he saw possible fifty years ago.

In Rotterdam such a floating building has now been towed into place, and it is completely “off the grid” with passive solar design and complete treatment and recycling of waste. Click here or on the picture for more information.

Another thing Bucky said back in the 1970′s was that the economy would be better off if the government paid 70% of all employees to stay home, (those who consume more energy going to work, and who don’t actually produce any wealth or life support) and that they be paid around $1,000 per day.

WOW … I can hear some people saying “pick me, pick me … I’ll stay home”.

Fuller believed that human beings would naturally start looking for things to do once they no longer had to work for a living …  and they would very quickly be solving the problems that are at the heart of all humanity living together peacefully and in harmony with nature.

At present the vast majority of people justify their JOB or their business by saying things like, “Well I have to pay the rent / morgage” or “Someone has to put food on the table” or “What do you think money grows on trees or something.”

Were you aware that since the 1970′s when the “gold standard” was dropped money does grow on trees or at least it gets printed at will … which is almost the same thing.

It is staggering to hear the amount of money circulating in the US economy has more than doubled in the past 2 years. Similar events have occurred all over the developed world as governments try (in vain) to bail out banks and corporations and keep money flowing … like blood flowing in our veins.

Fuller believed that as soon as we started using computers to determine what will create the sort of future we say we want, the faster we will start making ‘radical decisions’ that will bring that future into existence at a very fast speed.  And when we look back in only a few years time we will be dumbfounded that we would have done anything else.

But computers … or logical thinking is not what is making decisions today, nor has it been in the past.

Decision makers are usually selfish, greedy corporations and weak, unintelligent politicians who “make deals” that favor them both usually and that are so complex that the mom and pop individual tax payer employee or small business person has no way of understanding them.

In one of Buckminster Fuller’s books he recalls how a member of the JP Morgan family said to him “Bucky, you will never make any money because you make things simple. If you want to make money you make the issue more complex.” Does that remind you of choosing a mobile phone deal, or the supply of energy or even choosing your mortgage company? Makes you think doesn’t it!

The future will not be created by political parties … or in the first instance by large corporations. It will be created by individuals, like you and me who make the choices and the small differences, that use less energy, produce less carbon, maintain a healthy body, respects the environment and perhaps most importantly think about everything they do, and how it will impact their children and their children’s children.

It is amazing also how that “compounding” effect …  like compounding interest can gather momentum so quickly that before you know it there will indeed be 10 Billion Billionaires on-board our beautiful planet Earth living in peace and harmony.

The alternative, again as Bucky said … is oblivion.

Facebook … the New “BarnYard”, But Not One For Billionaires!

Ever had a job in the BARN YARD … trying to catch sheep, herd cattle or god forbid try catching pigs or chickens?

There is so much going on and only the experienced farm hand actually gets anything done that’s worthwhile while everyone else runs around expending lots and lots of energy getting sweaty and looking forward to a long cool drink.

Almost two decades ago I participated in a course called Money & You and we played lots of games, including one called the “Barn Yard Game”. It was noisy … there were people yelling, music playing and it was hard to think.

Well when people are telling at you this, and telling you that … suggesting we do this, inviting me to do that, it’s even harder to think.

So my strategy with Facebook and I do enjoy the part of catching up with family goings on, is that I now logon, have a look round and then log off.

I am staggered how much time some people spend on Facebook … it’s now the Web’s Ultimate TIME SINK … and it’s growing by the month.

Evidently there is some growing disquiet around Facebook and like others I am seriously considering erasing (if that’s possible) my account … and simply staying with the healthy, green networks I belong to including Your Healthy Planet.com of course.

I honestly doubt that the future billionaires, the people who are leading the conversations towards growing a healthy, green and sustainable future spend too much time on Facebook … chances are they have leveraged that out as well.

Is Politics Relevant to Your Future on Planet Earth?

Australia has just terminated Kevin Rudd as it’s prime minister and replaced him with Julia Gillard as Australia’s first ever female prime minister, but what relevance does that event really have?

“Whether it is to be Utopia or Oblivion will be a touch-and-go relay race right up to final moment. The race is between a better informed, hopefully inspired young  world versus a running scared, misinformedly brain-conditioned, older world. Humanity is in “final exam” as to whether or not it qualifies for continuance in Universe as mind, with the latter’s access to the design laws —called by science “the generalized principles” —governing eternally regenerative Universe.”

According to R Buckminster Fuller, considered by many as one of the most important humans of the twentieth century (c1895 – 1983) politics would be irrelevant by the year 2,000AD. Fuller made some fifty predictions throughout his lifetime, and this was one of only two that did not come true.

The other prediction was that poverty and hunger would no longer exist by 2,000AD and yet one billion people will go hungry today.

There have been many assertions that politics and ‘big business’ are one in the same, that they work together for mutual gain. In Australia we have seen a number of Prime Ministers take a ‘stand’ on issues that they believed were in the interest of the country, like taxation reform, health care, a resources tax and others … and do that at their peril.

Invariably the “power brokers” have their way and often one persons political career is ended.

These people of  integrity cannot back down, or take a side step. It is not in their making and we have seen that today in Australia as the prime ‘ministership’ changed hands.

What alternative do we have to a political machine?

What Fuller refers to in the Introduction to his book “Critical Path” c1981 is that the young generation are better informed, and many are in touch with the truth … the issues that they feel deep inside that no amount of money, fast cars or flashy houses can erode.

The young now know that:

1.  Oil is much better used in the manufacture of carbon fiber materials than burning it to produce pollution.

2.  Solar, wind and other renewable energy sources are provided to us free of charge, and it is so abundant that there is no longer any need to limit it’s use. There is an abundance of energy available to us.

3.  A person living in West Africa, in Nepal, in the Ukraine and everywhere on our planet has the same rite to enjoy everything that our beautiful planet produces.

4.  Technology can do almost anything we imagine … and we can imagine an amazing future!

Buckminster Fuller knew that in 1971 there were 4.7 billion potential billionaires on planet Earth waiting to realize their good fortune.

The “running scared, misinformedly brain-conditioned, older world” are not going to help the ‘young’ realize their potential billionaire lifetyle, because they believe there isn’t enough for you and me, they don’t see it yet, and many will not see it in their lifetime. As Fuller says, they are misinformed.

As individuals take responsibility, as we get in touch with our ‘mind’ (some say heart) rather than trying to figure it out with our brain, we will ‘correct’ our ship’s course and will very very quickly realize the billionaire lifestyle Bucky Fuller could so clearly see is waiting for us.

You may be saying “what rubbish, will never happen in my lifetime” … and that may be true, for the misinformed.

Politics only remains relevant while we remain misinformed …

Consider a couple of issues that were relevant in 1970′s and are still relevant today, some even more so.

*  First, and most importantly we are living on one very small planet, that one hundred years ago took six months or more to circumnavigate and today is easily accomplished in a matter of hours. Change is normal, and is accelerating.

*  Nations (ie a group of distinct people who live in one place) have been replaced by multi-cultural communities from all places around the globe.

*  Technology has the potential to create a billionaires’ lifestyle for every person on planet Earth and to do so within as short a time as ten years. There is no scarcity crisis on our planet, but there is a “crisis of ignorance”.

*  Given that there is no scarcity and there are no Nations any more, country borders have become irrelevant. Eliminating borders will allow the free flow of energies including the vast recyclable resources that we known as pollution.

I’m clear that when Buckminster Fuller referred to  the “young” he was referring to the ‘young of mind’, and when you see Nelson Mandela dance and sing you know that to be true. He fought for freedom for his African people, and we can equally stand for freedom for everyone.

Solar Is A Life Saver! More Than You Know!

And SOLAR is much easier than you think … as you will see in the following article by Barbara Young. But first consider the following …

Imagine being paid a substantial income every day … more than you currently believe possible, and imagine that you are receiving that income courtesy of an ‘individual’ who already provides for all life on planet Earth, and has done so since time began; that individual being your SUN.

Located a safe 93 million miles (149 million kms) away from the nearest protoplasm the sun provides enough clean natural energy in one day to power the entire United States of America for the entire year and a half.

Simply by capturing five days worth of radiant energy we would provide sufficient energy for the entire world population … and it is entirely conceivable that “cosmic accounting” may indeed be the natural accounting system of our solar system.

Our streets have been ‘paved’ (lit up) with ‘gold’ and we have literally ‘walked on by’ without really giving it a second thought.

Is it any wonder that our ‘made up accounting system’, which is based on a paradigm that is no longer true today, (that there is scarcity on our planet – due to advances in technology this has not been the case for some forty years now) is about to either implode or explode. Thankfully nature has an inbuilt safety factor that is extremely generous by any conservative engineers judgment.

But what exactly is solar power ?

Solar power is radiant energy that’s produced by the sun. Each day the sun radiates, or sends out, an immense quantity of energy. The sun radiates more energy in a second than people have used since the beginning of time.

The energy of the Sun comes from within the sun itself. Like other stars, the sun is mostly a big ball of gases––mostly hydrogen and helium atoms.  The hydrogen atoms in the sun’s core combine to create helium and generate energy in a process called nuclear fusion.

During nuclear fusion, the sun’s extremely high pressure and temperature cause hydrogen atoms to come apart and their nuclei (the central cores of the atoms) to fuse or combine. Four hydrogen nuclei fuse to become one helium atom. However the helium atom contains less mass than the four hydrogen atoms that fused. Some matter is lost during nuclear fusion. The lost matter is emitted into space as radiant energy.

It takes an incredible number of  years for the energy in the sun’s core to make its way to the solar surface, and then somewhat over eight minutes to travel the 93 million miles to earth. The solar energy travels to the earth at a speed of 186,000 miles per second, the velocity of light.

Simply a small percentage of the power radiated from the sun into space strikes the earth, one part in two billion. Yet this quantity of energy is enormous. Daily enough energy strikes the united states to provide the nation’s energy needs for one and a half years!

Now where does all this energy go?

About 15 percent of the sun’s energy that hits our planet is reflected back to space. Another 30 percent is used to evaporate water, which, lifted into the atmosphere, produces rainfall. Solar power is absorbed by plants, the land, and the oceans. The rest could be employed to supply our energy needs.

Who invented solar power ?

People have harnessed solar power for hundreds of years. Since the 7th century B.C., people used simple magnifying glasses to concentrate the light of the sun into beams so hot they would cause wood to catch fire.

Over a century ago in France, a scientist used heat from a solar collector to create steam to drive a steam engine. In the beginning of this century, scientists and engineers began researching ways to use solar technology in earnest. One important development was a remarkably efficient solar boiler invented by Charles Greeley Abbott, an american astrophysicist, in 1936.

The solar water heater gained popularity at this time in Florida, California, and the Southwest. The industry started in the early 1920s and was in full swing just before World War II. This growth lasted before mid-1950s when low-cost gas had become the primary fuel for heating American homes.

People and world governments remained largely indifferent to the possibilities of solar power before oil shortages of the1970s. Today, people use solar power to heat buildings and water and also to generate electricity.

How do we use solar power today ?

Solar power is used in several different ways, of course. There’s two very basic types of solar power:

* Solar thermal energy collects the sun’s warmth through one of two means: in water or in an anti-freeze (glycol) mixture.

* Solar photovoltaic energy converts the sun’s radiation to usable electricity.

Now let us discuss the five most practical and popular solutions for solar energy use:

1. Small portable solar photovoltaic systems. We have seen these used everywhere, from calculators to solar garden products. Portable units may be used for everything from RV appliances while single panel systems are used for traffic signs and remote monitoring stations.

2. Solar pool heating. Running water in direct circulation systems via a solar collector is a very practical solution to heat water for your pool or spa.

3. Thermal glycol energy to heat water. In this method (indirect circulation), glycol is heated by sunshine and the heat is then transferred to water in a warm water tank. This method of collecting the sun’s energy is much more practical now than ever before. In areas as far north as Edmonton, Alberta, solar thermal to heat water is economically sound. It can pay for itself in three years or less.

4. Integrating solar photovoltaic energy into your home or office power. In lots of parts of the world, solar photovoltaics is an economically feasible way to supplement the power of your home. In Japan, photovoltaics are competitive with other types of power. In America, new incentive programs make this form of solar technology ever more viable in many states. A frequent and practical way of integrating solar energy into the power of your home or business is through the use of building integrated solar photovoltaics.

5. Large independent photovoltaic systems. For those who have enough sun power at your site, you could possibly go off grid. You may also integrate or hybridize your solar energy system with wind power or other kinds of renewable power to stay ‘off the grid.’

Do you know how Photovoltaic panels work ?

Silicon is mounted beneath non-reflective glass to create photovoltaic panels. These panels collect photons from the sun, converting them into DC electric power. The energy created then flows into an inverter. The inverter transforms the power into basic voltage and AC electricity.

Photovoltaic cells are prepared with particular materials called semiconductors such as silicon, which is presently the most generally used. When light hits the Photovoltaic cell, a particular share of it is absorbed inside the semiconductor material. This means that the energy of the absorbed light is given to the semiconductor.

The power unfastens the electrons, permitting them to run freely. Pv cells also have more than one electric fields that act to compel electrons unfastened by light absorption to flow in a specific direction. This flow of electrons is a current, and by introducing metal links on the top and bottom of the – Photovoltaic cell, the current can be drawn to use it externally.

Solar Pro Arguments

- Heating our homes with oil or propane or using electricity from power plants running with fossil fuels is a reason for global warming and climate disruption. Solar power, on the contrary, is clean and environmentally-friendly.

- Solar hot-water heaters require little maintenance, and their initial investment may be recovered in just a relatively short time.

- Solar hot-water heaters can work in nearly every climate, even just in very cold ones. Simply choose the best system for your climate: drain back, thermosyphon, batch-ICS, etc.

- Maintenance costs of solar powered systems are minimal and the warranties large.

- Financial incentives (Australia, USA, Canada, European states…) can help to eliminate the cost of the first investment in solar technologies. The U.S. government, for instance, offers tax credits for solar systems certified by by the SRCC (Solar Rating and Certification Corporation), which amount to 30 percent of the investment (2009-2016 period).

Solar Cons Arguments

- The initial investment in Solar Water heaters or in Photovoltaic Electric Systems is certainly higher than that required by conventional electric and gas heaters systems, but is dropping rapidly.

- The payback period of solar PV-electric systems may be considered high, as well as those of solar space heating or solar cooling (in some countries only the solar water heating payback is short or relatively short).

- Solar water heaters do not support a direct combination with radiators (including baseboard ones).

- Some air con (solar space heating and the solar cooling systems) are expensive, and rather untested technologies: solar air-con isn’t, till now, a truly economical option.

- The efficiency of solar powered systems is rather influenced by sunlight resources. It’s in colder climates, where heating or electricity needs are higher, that the efficiency is smaller.

Is Warren Buffet’s Money Wealth, Or A Liability?

The definition of “wealth” according to Buckminster Fuller is “the number of days forward you can continue to live (at your current standard of living) if you stopped working today”.

In many developed countries, including Australia and the United States the wealth of an average person today is a matter of days, or weeks … in other words while they generally own a house and a car plus other possessions they must keep on working to continue to enjoy them. If they lost their employment the vast majority would have to spend their savings, sell some possessions or even downsize their house and lifestyle very quickly to survive.

Warren Buffet is in the media a lot, and at 79 years of age many articles about him focus attention on his 2006 pledge to give 99% of his assets to charity, particularly through the Bill Gates Foundation. Doing so, he said in a recent letter on Fortune’s website, would leave his lifestyle “untouched”.

In the video above Buffet shares how he made billions of dollars in profits for his company Berkshire Hathaway Inc. with China Petro.  The level of profit could have evidently been even higher had he held the shares for longer but he is happy with the money they made.

Another company that Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has been a major investor in has been Coca Cola, the massive soft-drink and now bottled water company. If you take the time to look at Buffet’s top ten investments you will see Coke, finance companies, drug companies and I think a mining company or two. These are all high profit industries however they rarely produce any wealth.

Try living on coke a cola … essentially sugar and water and one of the main products responsible for a global epidemic of diabetes and heart disease. Even if carbonated ‘high sugar’ drinks were taken off the market TODAY we will continue to have to pay for the treatment of diabetes and heart disease for decades to come. What of the reduced lifestyle and enjoyment these people endure?

That’s not being costed into any ‘bottom line’.

Many pharmaceutical companies also provide a high profit investment. But do they produce any wealth?

If some cases their products save lives, or give a quality of life that was not there before. But, there are also many areas where high blood pressure and cholesterol could very easily be reduced or eliminated naturally without the need for “management of the condition” and continued taking of the drugs.

I recently spoke with a delightful, healthy 84 year old woman on a flight across the east coast of Australia. Somehow the conversation turned to health issues and she said “I’m only on the normal medications”.

I said, “What do you mean “normal medications” and she replied … “Blood pressure and cholesterol tablets, that’s all.”

Wow, imagine if everyone was taking blood pressure and cholesterol tablets to manage their conditions; what if they stopped being able to afford it? Now there is another huge liability for every government health agency to consider … and it is the mission of many drug companies to have everyone, including healthy people using their medications. You will even see some are marketing to babies and infants.

What about mining companies? Are they producing wealth, or is there a liability hidden there too?

Technology is changing at an ever faster rate, or change is accelerating and a result is that we produce more with less every day today, and you will see the price of many products declining as a result. One new public building in Melbourne Australia employed tensegrity geodesic domes in its roof that cut the amount of steel necessary by 50%.

That’s a dramatic reduction isn’t it?

How would you like to see a 97% reduction in the amount of materials necessary to roof and clad you new ‘ultra modern’ energy efficient green residence? It’s possible and was just one of the residential housing designs put forward by Buckminster Fuller called “Old Man River project” for the city of St Louis, Illinois in the United States.  The residential project was designed to house 26,000 families and was designed to utilize modern construction technology.

Fuller had recorded the various cycles of metals being recycled and becoming available for re-use to produce more and more with less and less materials thanks to technology. The need to mine metals was diminishing and recycling would be the future of the metals industry.

Obviously large mining corporations (and they are very large) want to see their machines working day and night and so little attention is paid to recycling even today. As an example from my personal experience, the last two towns I have lived in do not collect recycled materials so all glass, metal, and paper waste goes into the general refuse. The year is 2010.

One of Australia’s wealthiest men was the late Richard Pratt whose father had founded Visy Industries to recycle waste materials, especially paper. He became a billionaire with a net wealth of some 3 billion dollars. Some ten years ago Mr Pratt offered to build recycling stations throughout Australia’s rural towns and requested the government man them through an employment scheme. Many rural areas have high unemployment. The government declined the offer.

If you did watch the video above you will have noticed the glee Warren Buffet appears to express at the level of profits made with his investments. This is old age thinking … that there is any need for one person to profit at the expense of another.

That ‘condition’ expired over forty (40) years ago and we are now simply dealing with the “lag time” to inform everyone on our planet Earth that there is sufficient for everyone to be living the lifestyle of a billionaire within just ten years.

The interconnected world today is learning at an ever increasing rate and one aspect that is hitting home ever more clearly is that our obsession with making money has not served humanity, and has not nurtured mother Earth. 

Making money is vastly different to creating wealth. We are now seeing a “correction” in the global marketplace with a swing to sustainable green investments and practices … that do indeed produce both wealth and money.

Ever heard the saying “You must start with the end in mind”?

But in reality it isn’t that difficult to understand once you become a little bit informed and you realize one CRITICAL FACT.

That critical fact is that THERE IS ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE on planet Earth … and thanks to technology it has been that way now for some forty (40) years or more, and again thanks to technology it is becoming more and more obvious that we can indeed look after everyone at a very high standard of living, whilst at the same time repairing the damage we have incurred to mother earth.

Yet ‘Bucky’ Fuller could also see that the developments or weaponry of modern warfare could, and he emphasized the fact that it was definitely “touch and go” if we as individuals would let go of our concerns for protecting our jobs or our individual ‘rites’ to certain benefits such that a global willingness would prevail and our global investment in “killingry” would almost overnight be transformed into “livingry”.

The World Game that Fuller envisioned was to be a place where individuals or teams of people came and competed, or cooperated, to:

“Make the world work, for 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time, through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone.”

Is Money Destroying Our World?

My mentor is a great departed American R Buckminster Fuller whom we are all starting to hear more and more about. Considered by many as one of  the most important humans of the 20th Century he invested the last 55 years of his life seeking to make human beings a physical success on this beautiful planet.

He was clear that it was absolutely possible, and he was equally clear that you can’t make money and sense at the same time, they are mutually exclusive.

As a close colleague of Henry Ford senior Fuller designed and built an amazing Dimaxion car (see video below) and his Dimaxion house that took 15 minutes to complete all the housework … and this was in 1930’s.

Fuller’s intention with his designs was to “to make sense” and provide an artifact that helped humanity become a physical success on planet earth, not to just make money.  Speaking of making sense reminds me of an article I saw short time ago where Volkswagen gave their design engineers a task to deign a small fuel efficient car capable of achieving 500mpg I think the figure was. The designers took on the task, and the result a car that never reached the production line but exceeded the deign brief by achieving  1,000mpg I think the figure was.

Fuller also said that the vast majority of people are being what he called ‘unevidently selfish’ … i.e. we look like we care, but underneath we’re actually improving ‘our lot’ even at the expense of others which means we do not believe or do not understand there is plenty, in fact an incredible abundance for everyone.

And the critical point is that since around 1970 this is no longer integrity, i.e. it no longer works.

Today we spend over 2 1/2 times the amount of money we need to provide a very high standard of living for everyone on our planet, just to ensure that the naughty, the bad, the wrong person doesn’t get more than they should.  Sounds insane that we are spending more than 2 1/2 times more money so that we don’t have what we all want.

In 1952 Fuller declared that we now had the resources and the know how to provide for every human being on earth at a very high standard of living. He actually saw that this was quickly becoming possible in 1917.

“Being a technologist and US Navy officer of the line in World War I, I realized back in 1917 that
the possibility of doing progressively ever more with ever less might mean that at some not too distant date we might attain such a magnitude of accomplishing more work with so much less resources that we would be able to take care of all humanity at an unprecedentedly high standard of living.” — R Buckmister Fuller. p111, Cosmography c1983

This was then proven in 1971 by a group of some 1600 International Scientists, that for the first time in history we had the capacity to provide for everyone of earth. Fuller also said that when we actually understand that, and we start working cooperatively rather than competing,  we will create 4.5 billion billionaires (c1970).

Today that could equate to ten billion billionaires (http://10billionbillionaires.org), and one of the design goals of Your Healthy Planet.com’s cooperative marketing place which is getting closer and closer to it’s launch.

“If you were spending one thousand dollars a day and you had one million dollars to spend you would last approx 3 1/3 years …. BUT if you had one billion dollars and spent one thousand dollars a day it would take you 3,300 years to run out of money. There’s a BIG difference between one million and one billion dollars.” — you can do the maths.

Another one of Buckminster Fuller’s many students is Robert Kiyosaki, best selling author, entrepreneur,  businessman and educator who in his latest book, “Conspiracy of the Rich” talks of how money today is debt.

Money was once tied to the gold standard but that hasn’t been the case since 1971 at least as far as the US dollar is concerned. Many other currencies followed suit and the chart below shows what has happened to Australia’s foreign debt … we borrow money from non residents and we also loan money overseas, but the gap is widening dramatically.

Overseas interest is increasing rapidly.

This week Australia’s government handed down it’s budget for the coming (election) year and it’s yet another deficit at a time when we have a resources boom?

What startled me was one reporter saying that the proposed budget would eliminate Australia’s debt within three years. The proposal is to bring the budget into surplus (ie to START repaying our overseas debt) within three years.  If a financial reporter for a National television channel doesn’t understand what is really going on, how many Australian residents understand?

Having such a large debt means working harder to pay it off … that seems to make sense doesn’t it? Perhaps it doesn’t make sense, but could in fact be aggravating the problem.

Fuller proposed back in 1970’s that the US economy would be better off, and the environment better off if the government paid 70% of the workers (the audititors and checkers and the checkers of the checkers) who produce no real wealth (wealth as life support systems) pay them $1000 a day to stay home.

Instead of spending hours traveling to work (and producing no life support) these workers are polluting the environment, often damaging their health through stress and ‘being in the rat race’,  when they could be home nurturing their family and looking for local problems they can go to work on to make human beings a physical success.

Finally, that point back in 1971 (or earlier) was a tipping point,  a little like in 400BC when Copernicus, I think it was discovered that the world was a sphere rotating around the sun … this was kept secret from 99% of the population for 1800 years.

The fact today is that we have more than enough wealth, more than enough food, clothing, shelter to have everyone living a billionaires lifestyle within a very short time … in as short a time as ten years with a comprehensive deign revolution!

The real context of life on earth today is abundance … there is no scarcity, and it is no longer integrity for any person to live their life solely for themselves.

It is no longer “you or me” but now it is “you and me”, that’s why there is chaos … and with the internet and networking capabilities exploding all over the modern world it could happen very quickly that this message sweeps around the globe and as Fuller said, it may only take us ten years to transform the world and yes, make human beings a physical success.

It isn’t money that is destroying our world, rather our attitude to money and our ignorance of what is actually going on around us.

Is it possible that is our mission here is to make human beings a physical success?
